Jenzabar Foundation

Who We Are

The mission of The Jenzabar Foundation is to recognize and support the good works and humanitarian efforts of student leaders serving others across the global community. The Foundation seeks to foster a culture of service and to educate and inspire future generations to create a better world.

The Jenzabar Foundation issues grants to institutions of higher education and other charitable organizations with similarly aligned missions, and helps promote the activities of grant recipients within their communities and on a global level. The Jenzabar Foundation is a public charity. This authorization allows The Foundation to raise additional money from the general public and others to expand its outreach and better support the good works of student leaders on college and university campuses as well as within other non-profit organizations. The Foundation can now partner with other foundations, corporations, and individuals that also recognize the value of student led community service and volunteerism.

The Jenzabar Foundation has emerged out of a history of corporate giving and a deep sense of community support and philanthropy imparted through the company’s founders and executive management. Jenzabar, Inc. established a grant program in 2006, and issued nearly 250 grants in 2007 to institutions of higher education in support of service-based student activities, and to non-profit organizations involved in education and social welfare. In 2008, the company took a step further with the formal establishment of The Jenzabar Foundation.

The Jenzabar Foundation’s Founders and Directors

Robert A. Maginn, Jr. serves as Chairman of The Jenzabar Foundation where he oversees the Foundation’s widespread programs for funding institutions of higher education, non-profit organizations, and student leaders for their humanitarian efforts within local and global communities. Maginn also serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer at Jenzabar, Inc., where he transformed the company from a dotcom start-up to an industry-leading enterprise solution provider now serving over 700 higher education institutions worldwide.

Recognizing the importance of corporate giving and service, Maginn has significantly enhanced support to service-based student activities, various development projects at institutions of higher education, and non-profit organizations involved in education and social welfare. Maginn serves on the board of One Family, Inc., a not-for-profit organization devoted to ending family homelessness in Massachusetts, and also served on the Educational Board for the Software Information Industry Association from 2005 to 2007.

Chai Ling serves as the Founding President and Chief Operating Officer of Jenzabar, Inc., a leading higher education software and services provider, and as a Director and Advisory Board Chair for The Jenzabar Foundation. Prior to Jenzabar, Chai Ling worked as a consultant at Bain & Company, a leading global business and strategy consulting firm. She holds a M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, a M.L.A. in Public Affairs at Princeton University, and a B.A. from Beijing University. A key student leader herself in the 1989 Tiananmen Square movement, Chai Ling was subsequently named Glamour Woman of the Year and nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2010 Chai Ling founded All Girls Allowed, a non-profit organization that seeks to restore the God-given life, value and dignity to women by seeking transformation both of hearts and of societies through:

  1. Exposing the injustice of China’s One-Child Policy;
  2. Rescuing girls and mothers from gendercide in society; and
  3. Celebrating women by embracing them as equal image-bearers of God through our pledge: In Jesus’ Name, Simply Love Her
