The Jenzabar Foundation was recognized by The Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) and awarded with the 2009 Humanitarian Award during their Annual Alumni Association’s Awards banquet held at the InterContinental Chicago on September 11, 2009. The Jenzabar Foundation was honored for its excellence and leadership in philanthropy and for contributions made to ICO in support of the College’s Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity program (SVOSH).

The Humanitarian Award was presented to The Jenzabar Foundation for their support of humanitarian efforts in the U.S. and around the world. The Foundation recently made an impact on ICO’s SVOSH Program, making it possible for more students to participate in restoring or improving vision to people in underdeveloped communities around the world. The grant has impacted mission trips for the 2008-2009 academic year and will continue to fund initiatives for the current 2009-2010 year.
